Top Ten Movies of 2018

2018 was a mixture of good and bad, like every year. But, the movies, for the most part, were all pretty good! arranged the top grossing movies of 2018. Do keep in mind this list will only include the top ten movies, arranged from 10 -1, based on how much the movie made.

  1. Solo: A Star Wars Story


This was the newest addition to the Star Wars series. A prequel film all about Han Solo’s past and how he became that loveable scruffy looking nerf-herder we all know and love. It follows him as he encounters his future best friend Chewy, and Lando, and many other friends. This movie grossed $213.77M.

  1. Ant-Man and the Wasp

Continuing in the hilarious story of Scott Lang as he tries to be Ant-Man and a good father, he runs into Hope and Dr. Pym again; assisting them in a critical mission, and learning more about their past as he works alongside The Wasp. This movie grossed $216.65M.

  1. Mission: Impossible –Fallout


In yet another action filled movie, Ethan Hunt and his team race against the clock to stop terrorist attacks on various places around the world. They might be facing one of the toughest missions yet. This movie grossed $220.16M.

  1. The Grinch

The Grinch

That’s right, a rerelease of a classic Christmas movie. And while this one has been made into live action, this new one is animated. Follow The Grinch as we learn a little more about his past, and get to see the exciting adventure of Cindy Lou Who and her friends as Christmas fast approaches. This movie grossed $270.05M.

  1. Aquaman


Yes, it’s true folks! Another great DC movie. Follow Arthur Curry as he learns about his destiny and fights to win a kingdom that is apparently his, and becomes Aquaman! This movie grossed $289.37M.

  1. Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2

What can you say about a Deadpool movie? It’s Deadpool, ‘nuff said. Grab your unicorns and enjoy the ride along with Deadpool and a gang of other rogue mutants as they fight off a villain and do some really funny stuff. This movie grossed $324.57M.

  1. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World Fallen KIngdom

To save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that threatens extinction, Owen and Claire start to do all they can to stop the extinction. This movie grossed $417.72M.


  1. Incredibles 2

Incredibles 2

YES! The finally long-awaited sequel to The Incredibles finally made its way to the theaters and straight to our hearts. Follow the Incredibles family as they take on their next big adventure, and learn that Jack-Jack, is not just a sweet little baby. This movie grossed at $608.58M.

  1. Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers Infinity War

The long awaited 3rd Avengers movie. Here the Avengers face off against a powerful foe, Thanos, who is gathering the Infinity Stones to put them in his gauntlet. They are trying to keep him from retrieving all of the stones, and trying to save the world from the destruction that he might cause. This movie grossed $678.82M.


  1. Black Panther

This was the number one grossing movie of 2018. This movie alone grossed $700.06M. Follow T’Challa as he struggles to balance being the King of Wakanda, and Black Panther. He is put to the test when a threat puts Wakanda and the world on the line, and Black Panther must fight to survive and win.

  1. I’m glad you mentioned the rating scale is based on how much the movies made. Because, a lot of people could go see a movie and not like it but, since they did buy the tickets, that amount would go to the dollar totals. I really like going to the theatre, especially movie popcorn. I was amazed that I had only seen two of the top ten movies of 2018.
